Posh n' Preggers

It has been a long time since I have written a blog post and for good reason - I'm pregnant! I've been laying low and keeping mum but now I finally get to share this great news with the world :)

I envision my pregnancy being as stylish and sophisticated as Victoria Beckham's four were [I still can't believe how good she looks after 4 kids!?].  Maybe I'm living in a dream world, but I'll take it!  The goal is not to get frumpy and gross, but that would mean I have to actually get to the gym 1st [I'm 100% starting that this week... if I'm not exhausted].  I'm totally going to try to rock the cape, caftan, cowl neck and tunic look for the next several months.  I've already been looking into comfortable jersey dresses like Vicky's below, because obviously, we're soul sisters and I'm going to look just as good as she did with little Harper in the womb [if only Hubby & I had a gala such as the Royal Wedding to attend to show of my growing bump in such a fabulous and fierce way... sigh].  Over the next 6 months it's all thoughts Posh as I try to emulate one of my idols and one of the most stylish moms ever.

Anyway, Hubby & I are extremely excited and can't wait to meet our little bundle of joy on or around May 2nd!  Now I get the pleasure of picking out a fabulous push present.  Diamonds or designer shoes?? Decisions, decisions...

The Quest for the Perfect Sandal

I just had a revelation, I will never be completely satisfied when it comes to my shoe collection [how am I just realizing this now?].  There will always be a hunt for this specific platform and a, "I desperately need that pony hair booty!"  The last few months have led me down the quest for the perfect simple single strap sandal, and let me tell you friends, it is not an easy task.  Sure Prada has the perfect pair [see below], but I don't want to test Hubby's patience and end up having to site 'shoe problems' on divorce papers.

I've searched high and low for something similar to no avail.  Even good ol' dependable ZARA was a fail.  I just don't understand why everything has to either be blinged out, caged, or t-strapped?!?!?  Why do I care so much about such a simple shoe you may ask? Well there is nothing simple about these beauties my friends.  They are the epitome of sassy sex kitten.  They literally can go with anything and I love the thought of wearing them with just some jeans and a boyfriend tee, it's what would take the look from egh to Ooooooohhh look at that fun outfit!  So there.

Here are a few things I found, but haven't made say 'SOLD!' just yet.  Maybe I should just commission some poor fashion student to make me a pair, that's a thought...

Stuart Weitzman - SUPER FUN! But not really realistic in terms of color and use :'(

Calvin Klein - close but not in black Booo! Plus I'm not a fan of the buckle closure.

Jeffrey Campbell - Probably my best bet but again the ankle strap is a touch too thick for my liking.


So, now you can see my dilemma.  I will keep hunting though and not let anything deter my need for the perfect strappy sandal!  Because if there's one thing I'm certain of, I always get my way ; )



Sidenote - I searched for 2 hours before I wrote this post and nada.  This is going to be a grueling process...

August Obsessions: Broke Girl Edition

I've realized that I often post about things I love that are completely unattainable to the average person [Wait not everyone can afford $2,000 Alexander McQueen clutches? Kidding! I am not a 1%'er, please don't send Occupy Wall Street to my home].  So I think this time I'll do the reverse and dedicate my 'August Obsessions' to things any girl can get her hands on especially those broke ones struggling to still look fabulous in NYC, because trust me, I know how it feels to eat $1.25 pizza for 5 nights straight just for shopping $$ or because you feel it's absolutely essential and necessary to purchase that $400 Tommy runway tunic in the Spring campaign ads before anyone else.... Anyway, enough with my grumblings, behold the List!

Warm Out Today, Warm Out Yesterday...

Dear Stewie, I feel your pain.  It's been soooo hot out lately it makes it impossible to want to get dressed in the morning and today is even worse with it suppose to be going up to 90! 90?! What are you supposed to wear when it's 90 out aside from being naked or looking like a skank on the street corner with a bandeau and micro mini?  Here are some looks that will keep you cool but cute.

Afternoon Pick Me Up: Shoes & Other Stupid Stuff

People are really testing my patience today. In desperate need of a pick me up, I immediately decided that I needed to "look at really pretty shoes."  I cheered up when I found these Nicholas Kirkwood's.  Yes, I'm completely aware that they're soo impractical, but who the hell cares?! The color is so bright and cheery.  And here is some glittery goodness, found in the form of Miu Miu cobalt pumps, just for shiggles. But sometimes shoes aren't... to the cat videos we go!
